On June 14, 2013 the MHPCC Mana system will be powered down. Data in your home directory ($HOME) and scratch directory ($WORKDIR) on Mana will NOT be preserved. You are responsible for copying/moving your important data to the appropriate location, possibly Riptide or your local system.

The center wide file system ($CENTER) will be accessible from Riptide.

Mana is available for file transfers only.

You will have until June 14, 2013 to ACCESS data files that are accessible via the Mana system. However, if you wait until the last minute, there may be insufficient network bandwidth to accommodate all file transfers. Recovery of any files after June 14 will be impossible, as the system will be crated for transportation.

You MUST have an account on Riptide to access $CENTER after June 14, 2013. Data not retrieved/moved will NOT be available after June 14, 2013.

The Portal migration experienced technical issues and has been extended to 1800 HST on June 6, 2013. During this period, the Portal will be unavailable.

You have already received an MHPCC notification stating that you are responsible for migrating data in your home directory and your scratch directory. Files that have been uploaded and through the Portal and exist in the Portal storage area will be migrated to Riptide for you. If you need access to those files during the Portal downtime, you may access them through the conventional SSH method. They exist on Mana at the path "/mnt/cfs/projects/portal/", where is your login name on Mana.

The login node riptide01.mhpcc.hpc.mil is currently offline. Please use the round-robin login of "riptide.mhpcc.hpc.mil", as riptide01.mhpcc.hpc.mil has been removed from the rotating alias.

The Mana system at MHPCC DSRC will be decommissioned in June 2013. A new system, Riptide (IBM iDataPlex) will be taking its place and will be online in May 2013.

If you/your HPCMP project would like an allocation on the new MHPCC DSRC TI-11/12 Riptide IBM iDataPlex system, please contact your S/AAA to request an allocation. Please plan accordingly to assure a smooth transition.

Connectivity to the Shared Application License Server (rls.csi.hpc.mil) and the ARS (reservation.hpc.mil) will be unavailable due to a scheduled Network outage at the ARL DSRC, between the hours of 0800-1200 EDT, Tuesday, April 30th, 2013.

Running jobs using shared SW licenses may terminate due to the unavailability of the remote SW license servers, however reservations have been made for SLB managed applications so that queued jobs using shared SW licenses will not be able to start during the downtime window.

The Applications affected by this outage are: Abaqus, Accelrys, Ansys, CFD++, Cobalt, Ensight, Fluent, LS-Dyna, Matlab, Star CD and Totalview.

As a reslut, the Center Wide File System (CWFS) is unavailable during this period.

The Baseline Configuration Team (BCT) environment variable, $CENTER (this variable contains the path for a user's directory on the Center Wide File System )is not functional during the dedicated project's timeline.

The MHPCC Utility Server will resume standard operations on June 1, 2013.

An intrusive PBS update is required to resolve an open/ongoing issue on the Mana system.
